How to get to Wallingford

By Car

From the M40 (North & London):

Exit at J6 (Lewknor) and follow the B4009 towards Watlington/Wallingford. Continue through Watlington and follow signs for Wallingford. Once in the town, follow directions towards the centre and your final arrival details.

From the M4 (South & West):

Exit at J12 (Theale) and take the A329 towards Pangbourne/Wallingford. Continue along the A329, following signs to Wallingford. Enter the town and proceed towards the centre.

From Oxford (approx. 20 mins):

Take the A4074 southbound directly to Wallingford. This is the quickest and most straightforward route.

By Train

The nearest stations are:

Cholsey (5 mins drive / taxi)

Didcot Parkway (15 mins drive) – fast trains to London Paddington (~45 mins)

Train services are available to and from the village of Cholsey (just over 2 miles away) and Didcot Parkway (6 miles). There are frequent services from both stations to London Paddington, Reading and Oxford. Services to the West Country and Wales also operate from Didcot Parkway.

By Air

Heathrow Airport – approx. 45–60 mins drive

London Gatwick – approx. 1.5 hours

By Bus

The town is well served by local bus operator Thames Travel with regular services to Oxford, Reading, Henley and Didcot and to many of the surrounding villages. You can view the Timetables on the Thames Travel website.

By Boat
